Running and crying in the rain while listening to a really painful song is the best therapy. Nobody really realizes you’re bawling either. It’s so freeing to just release everything out in the open and no one really notices you.
Everyone assumes I’m fast because I enjoy running.
Ever since I made goals to track time instead of miles, I’m more relaxed and less likely injure myself. I’m not counting races though, just the training runs. “5 miles? Uggh I have so much to go.” “50 minutes? I’ll just taking a 5 minute walking break, it will still count as part of my 50 minute run.” And because I took a break I’m able to recover better and sometimes make up for lost time by running faster the latter half.
