Can anyone suggest a non-greasy and affordable paleo body lotion for very dry skin?
I have very dry skin (due to past use of accutane - never again). Heavy Eucerin-type lotions tend to be the only ones that work well for me, but the ingredients list is sketchy.
I’m on a budget, so the fancy, 40$ paleo creams are not feasible for me. I’ve tried using coconut oil and other oils in the past, but the problem is that when I use them as an entire body moisturizer, I often end up getting grease stains on my clothes. Any suggestions?
An added caveat is that I don’t want to use animal fat - though I suspect it would be equally as greasy.
I use almond oil. Whipped Tallow is apparently also good and soaks in, not greasy. My sister uses whipped tallow
not sure if its for whole body, but Corn Huskers Lotion is fairly simple and no animal fat, and is non-greasy
had never heard of that!! looks good, thanks for the rec
I’m not sure if you qualify lanolin as an animal fat, as it is extracted from wool, but Bag Balm is very good.
Petrolatum, Lanolin, Paraffin Wax, Water, and 8-Hydroxyquinoline Sulfate.
Coconut oil
Costco has goat milk lotion
Oh I just saw you don’t want to use animal products. Well, no animal products would leave plant based oils. Which you also don’t want to use. I guess you could try aloe Vera.
Are plant oils bad for our skin? I know excessive omega 6 is bad to eat, but didn’t think absorption was a problem.
Argan oil!
I’ve made my own; coconut oil, shea butter, jojoba oil, glycerine, essentials oils, vitamin E, aloe vera, rose water, mango butter, beeswax, etc. Any of those, find a balance you like. Less coconut oil. Check website https://mountainroseherbs.com for ideas, ingredients, they have great organic clean products. Out of Eugene, Oregon I believe. Beeswax pellets need to be melted on very low temp. They are good for homemade deodorants. They will harden your mixture when cool. Shea butter will give you more creaminess.
This sounds great! Do you have to worry about it staining your clothes, or does it absorb pretty quickly and not stain? I’ve found that straight coconut oil stains.
I haven’t noticed, but need to let it dry after applying. I live in sweats so probably why I don’t notice if it does, Lol Yeah I don’t like it too greasy either.
Malibu Hemp Moisturizer. I googled to make sure there are no animal products in it and it is also not tested on animals.
All other hemp stuff feels too oily and is most likely a scam.
Anything with whipped beef tallow and no synthetic ingredients. Or look for someone local that makes goat milk lotion.
