Oh no that’s the sensible thing I’m worrying about already (just got out of PT. It’ll come fine by Saturday.) I need dumb shit to worry about so I don’t come up with anything else realistic.

What are some really stupid things that I could waste my time and energy worrying about during my taper this week?
Run Baltimore if you like hills, you have decent heat tolerance, you want a really cool medal, and you would like food and drink recommendations from two locals who will come out and scream your Reddit handle in the name of “support.” Skip it if you will be sad if it turns out to be hot and humid, or if you value having scenery as opposed to a tour of the city.
Duck fat fries are so much more delicious than regular fries, by the way.
You can totally do this! Do 3.5 next week, 4 the following, 4.5 after that. Have fun!
But then you have to do B10 and potentially die in the heat.
One day I will go back and get revenge on that race because I really like the course.
It me.
I don’t handle heat well. I would rather run through the winter for a spring race and mess around in the woods in the summer. Come late August and early September I’m eager to get back to intense training for a late fall race.
Ditto about Baltimore. I have no croissant recommendations but I can point you to some really good duck fat fries.
Baltimore is a 50-50 risk of being HECKIN’ HOT. And cool if you live here, but not scenic.
I hear Steamtown is pretty.
Have you thought about Wineglass? Haven’t run it, hear great things about the course and organization.
Which has the most scenic course?
Which has the cheapest hotel room with free breakfast and a bathtub?
Pro tip- try it on in the house and do some high knees or crossover toe touches or something. That’ll help you get the shoulder straps adjusted the right way before you go out. I put a zip tie a few inches above the back light to tighten up the straps because they kept sliding off my arms and annoying me.
The offices of my two teams are closing at noon tomorrow regardless of what the actual office of my company is doing. They’ve worked hard, and they’re tired, and they should go eat pie. Or squash. Or turkey. Or all of those things.
But the best Thanksgiving food is the confit of duck my cousin makes.
Oh… that’s very different.
I always keep extra layers in my car (I live in an area with some pronounced microclimates depending on where you are in the valley) but I don’t know that I am equipped for 23 vs. 51.
Correct. Absolutely correct.
So I’m theoretically a full grown adult. Why is it so hard to dress myself for a run in late fall/early winter temperatures so that I won’t be too hot or too cold?
It’s all nonsense, so adding 8 points to it won’t make it worse.
Thank you, you understood the assignment.
