Happy Thanksgiving to all those celebrating it. Keeping with tradition, I’ve decided to put off hosting the weekly Complaints & Confessions Thread and substitute it with something a little better this week.

So, instead of complaining or talking about the things that have been weighing heavy on your mind, let’s take a moment to jot down a comment or two about the things we’re thankful for or anything that you otherwise want to rave about. Doesn’t necessarily have to be running oriented either.

Spread some joy, share some love, and let’s hear what you’re thankful for.

Thankful for my son. After having a mini-stroke he gave me a stern talking to about changing my habits so I can be there to celebrate his future successes. So thankful he gave me shit and encouraged me get healthy.

Thankful to my husband who supports me no matter whatever crazy scheme I come up with, taking me to the gym, helping me find healthy food, listens to me whine when my body hurts and lastly for hiding his cookies away from me.

And lastly, thankful to me. For quitting smoking, putting in the work to lose 45lbs, showing up to the gym, deciding that I COULD run and pushing hard even when I don’t feel like it.

As someone who just lost a parent earlier this month to unhealthy habits after a lot of intervention attempts, thank you for being there for your son and taking it seriously. I hope things stay good for you and you have many many more years with him and your family ❤️

I’m happy to hear that you’ve turned your health around. I’m a stroke nurse, so I work with stroke patients and patients who have TIAs every day. I’m glad you just had a TIA and now have a second chance at moving forward. Such great news!
