Condolences.
My fancy Noxgear tracer running light contraption showed up this evening. (I also didn’t have to get a hard cast for my broken wrist, so I’m itching to get out and run tomorrow morning for the first time in 12 days.)
Was it supposed to come with instructions? Should it be intimidating me as much as it is?
Sorry for the gratuitous profanity; but I was impressed!
Oh, fuck. Those look fantastic!
I intend to cry and continue to complain about my broken wrist. Ugh.
Confession: I don’t give myself much credit for how far I’ve come with running. I’m always looking at how to improve and not seeing how much I’ve already improved. A bit of both is needed.
I can relate to this. I do my best to tell others how well they’re doing in X,Y, or Z, but so often, I am just frustrated and think I should have made more progress by now.
I, too, am chiming in as an allegedly fully grown adult. How am I to dress to run in the winter with a cast on my wrist?
I started running last September (in Montana). I, too, didn’t know if I would be able to carry through the winter. I invested in some layers, a headlamp, and a pair of Gortex trail shoes for the snow and ice. I found I loved cold morning runs in the dark with few people around. It was a bit difficult at first, but I forced myself into the routine, and now I feel I can accomplish more than I ever expected.
I’m glad you wore the shirt. Next year, for that one safe week, let’s strive for you to show your NYG pride! (Why, I don’t know, but most years you can say that about my Eagles…) Also, I’m sorry to hear FF was insensitive. As a man, I know how we can be. We generally mean well, but the execution often leaves something to be desired.
My parents are going to be visiting from out of state and staying in a town about two hours away. I love my folks, but the thought of entertaining them in a Montana November is pushing me up against my limits and causing this fully grown man undue stress. Fortunately, I don’t have to work today, so I’m going to go run on it for a while. Wish me luck.
I’m thankful for my sobriety because without it, I would never have found running and all of the wonderful things it does for me from head to toe.
