The fat/slow people in the back are working just as hard, proportionally, that the people in the front are.
Fit and fast and young 5k runners are going hard for 15-20 minutes. Fat and slow and old 5k runners are going hard for an hour. They are exerting an effort that is hard for them. They shouldn’t be looked down upon as a lesser type of participant. We want applause and signs and bananas and medals too!
yeah i’ve also noticed that when running equal distances, if I run slower I hurt more than when i do it faster . I think its due to spending more time on my feet

Not just as hard, way harder and for longer. Then think about those that walk a marathon in 6+ hours….I’d never have the patience kudos to them

It’s because your form breaks down.
It takes me about 3:45-4:00 to finish a half-marathon, lol. I’d be out there like a full-time job if I did a marathon!!!
