Our local Parkrun attracts all types. Speedsters, regular joes, old folk, parents running with their kids, intellectually handicapped people, and even a few blind people… and also, sigh, the running clubs who don’t attend the briefing, hog the track, won’t let faster people through, ignore guidelines and set up “camp” away from everyone else.
Running clubs in my area spit on casual and non-competitive runners. So my hot take is that running clubs are for assholes.
Big agree

Yo the running club in my town advertises all paces welcome and then proceed to have 99% of members book off at a 6:45 pace
All paces welcome as long as you don’t mind running alone!
