New Balance has a few of their lines with a Gore-Tex liner. I’m not sure how well it’d stand up to heavy downpours, since you’d be getting water coming in where your foot goes in to the shoe, but puddle and such, they’re champs. I wore them walking through a grassy field that was wet from a recent downpour and my socks and feet stayed perfectly dry.
I’ll check it out! Some of the paths/trails I run are more of a puddle/washout problem, so that sounds perfect.
I’m also not above taping some saran wrap around my ankle to keep water from running into the shoe… If it’s raining, there won’t be witnesses to my ridiculousness!
I love being out in the rain!
I just wish my shoes & socks wouldn’t turn into waterlogged lead weights when they’re wet. I really need to look for some rainy-day run solutions.
Zero cushion merino wool socks and very lightweight breathable shoes are your friends.
