TGIF!! We made it, fam!

What’s on for the weekend? Who’s running, racing, tapering, cycling, hiking, skiing, swimming, kayaking, baking, cat wrangling, staring into the void, …? Tell us all about it!

We have holiday photos tomorrow, I think. It’s at a tree farm and it’s supposed to rain 😂. Maybe it’s just me being crushed under the mental load of it all but I don’t actually care. I organized the shoot, I scheduled the time, I picked out our outfits, I fixed my son’s sweater so he can wear it again … I’ve done all I can to make it happen. If Christmas photos this year are of us huddled under an umbrella oh well. All I can do is my best 🤷‍♀️

Running wise I’ll probably run my usual 25 minutes. It’s so tempting to increase but i already added a second run to pt (I go 2x a week now and ran there and back both times) and I’m not eager to aggravate the PTT any.

I might bake actually. I’ve been cultivating a sour starter and I’m not suuuper sure it’s doing the thing? It bubbles a lot but doesn’t rise. I can’t remember if it should rise or not. I promised sour dough for thanksgiving so I’ll try a loaf out this weekend and see how it does. If not I’ll probably do brioche since that relies on manufactured yeast and is more predictable. 🤷‍♀️

I am right there with you in the “it is what it is” boat! You’ve done all you can for the photos, they’ll be what they are! But hopefully they’re great :)

I had a sourdough starter a few years ago and I do think it rose a bit, but slowly over time as it was fed. Mostly lots of bubbles. Wishing you a successful bread bake! Bread is definitely not my forte.

Mine definitely rises, rising up to 2-3x its unrisen height. I keep a tiny one and refresh it daily (8g starter, 30g water, 30g flour), so I don’t know how they really work when you’re not discarding most of it each time you feed it.
