Any controversial/unpopular opinion that you may have in regards to running

My hot take is that Adidas shoes > Nike

Corollary: Nobody (other than your coach/trainer/whatever) wants to hear more than a 15 second race report.

Good: Yeah, it was great. Little hotter than expected so I ended up short of my goal time.

Bad: At the start, I was worried about the heat, so with one minute before the gun, I shed my long sleeve layer in favor of a singlet - but then I started immediately getting cold. Anyway, some local band performed the national anthem, and we set off right at 8 am under clear skies, with a little humidity. My buddy Chaz was with me because I knew he was going to pace me for the first half, but he hadn’t slept well, so …

At mile 11, I had the uncontrollable urge to take a poop…

Honestly, they don’t want to hear about it either. Unless it’s something truly exceptional, just shut up.

My friend recently started running and strength training and I am SO EXCITED!! We’ve been talking techniques and schedules and gear. I’ve never had an exercise buddy so I’m pumped to have someone to talk about it with.

Lol my experience is that runners want to tell you about their running but don’t want to hear about anyone else.

I’d say that’s true of most humans, regardless of the activity.

Them: Tying my shoes is the most exciting thing ever and everyone must know.

You: I just safely returned from a trip to the moon. Want to hear the details?

        Them: Boring…
