Corollary: Nobody (other than your coach/trainer/whatever) wants to hear more than a 15 second race report.
Good: Yeah, it was great. Little hotter than expected so I ended up short of my goal time.
Bad: At the start, I was worried about the heat, so with one minute before the gun, I shed my long sleeve layer in favor of a singlet - but then I started immediately getting cold. Anyway, some local band performed the national anthem, and we set off right at 8 am under clear skies, with a little humidity. My buddy Chaz was with me because I knew he was going to pace me for the first half, but he hadn’t slept well, so …
At mile 11, I had the uncontrollable urge to take a poop…
My friend recently started running and strength training and I am SO EXCITED!! We’ve been talking techniques and schedules and gear. I’ve never had an exercise buddy so I’m pumped to have someone to talk about it with.
The only people who want to hear about your runs are other runners.
Lmao this is how I know my SO wants something… she’ll be like “how was ur run” lmao u don’t care hahaha
Sadly I have no runner friends
Me either, had a few in college but I wasn’t even running like that back then, I just mostly keep my running to myself

Honestly, they don’t want to hear about it either. Unless it’s something truly exceptional, just shut up.

Lol my experience is that runners want to tell you about their running but don’t want to hear about anyone else.
I’d say that’s true of most humans, regardless of the activity.
Them: Tying my shoes is the most exciting thing ever and everyone must know.
You: I just safely returned from a trip to the moon. Want to hear the details?
Them: Boring…
This is hurtful to hear
This is less of a hot take and more just good advice for people socially.
Runs are like farts. I’m proud of mine and don’t wanna be involved in yours.
I dont want to hear about you having the runs please keep that to yourself.
Told my therapist about my last run today
