It’s Monday, fam, you know what that means.

Time for chit chat! How was the weekend, what’s on for the week, tell us all about it.

Did 5K at a local trail where a bit over a month ago I “hurt” my ankle. (It wasn’t the trails fault, just a cumulation of everything together). Happy to report that my ankle is A OK today. Still continuing my PT, the work to build it up strong and healthy will take far more than a month but I’m glad that overall my body is responding well and allowing me to run. Now it’s the hard part of actually staying consistent with running as we enter midwest winter.

I started running last September (in Montana). I, too, didn’t know if I would be able to carry through the winter. I invested in some layers, a headlamp, and a pair of Gortex trail shoes for the snow and ice. I found I loved cold morning runs in the dark with few people around. It was a bit difficult at first, but I forced myself into the routine, and now I feel I can accomplish more than I ever expected.
