Nothing beats the freedom I feel to start a run up until 9pm in the summer though. The cooler part of the summer day when all the nature is still out is the best.
Same, I live in a place that has a tendency to get quite a bit of snow and I love running in (most) snow storms. Coming down an inch per hour? Let’s go run a half marathon.
The worst part is standing around in the cold and wind (because it’s always windy, right?) waiting for my watch to grab satellites so I can actually start.
I spent majority of my time outside no matter the time of year. It has never stopped physically hurting my throat and lungs when I do cardio in winter.
Winter running is better than summer running. Even in the snow.
I would like to run in the snow because it is so peaceful. But also, I don’t want to run in the cold. So that leaves me with a conundrum.
I run in Florida. Winter running is the only enjoyable running here.
Hell yes! I get overheated easily and am suffering all summer long. But I’ve had some amazing runs in below-freezing temps.
People always complain about how crowded their gyms are in January. Funny thing is my running trails are always the most empty :)
Are you Chelsea from Portland?
Yes. Omfg yes.
I agree with you.

Absolutely…I actually love running in the snow.

Running in the cold is magical. It helps me to actually enjoy what I’m doing.

Start your watch inside? Maybe next to a window?
I’m in MN. I do not like summer runs at all.
I can’t stand cardio when it’s cold. Physically hurts my lungs and throat.
If you spend more time outdoors in the winter, you adjust. Or wear a buff and cover it up.

Got any recommendations for wind breaker running pants? Don’t want to jog with sweats and tights are nice but don’t do anything with wind.
Happy Cake Day fellow runner!
