Marathon training makes you gain unhealthy weight (even when being super conscious about food choices and calories and whatnot).
Anecdotally I’ve seen this happen to women more than men. And it seems to happen more to the people I know who were being super careful about calories and healtjy food choices than the ones who continued to eat absolute junk.

“Careful about calories and health food choices” isn’t the way to lose weight for an athlete, despite what the majority of experts say.
Extended zone 2 training without much glucose around - fasted is ideal - is the ticket.
Sweet, thanks! Going to sound dumb here but water qualifies as extended zone 2 training? Short distances and sprints? Hiit?
Zone 2 is easy. Extended is whatever your long run is.
