I’m in a km country and always have been tracking in miles for some reason. MAinly because of US training plans. Why should I switch? Honest question :-)
Easier to have conversations with runners in your country? Can figure out routes much more easily given that everything in your country is measured by km?
Being American, it’s all about the miles for me. BUT, my one marathon (so far), was an international one that started in NY, but finished in Niagara Falls, Canada. It was put on by a Canadian company, so there was both mile and km markers. Those km markers were a godsend, because they were so much closer together, and mentally made the distance go by faster.
Tracking pace and distance in kilometres is far superior to miles.

For pace the numbers are lower, for distance the numbers are higher. And generally, any on-the-fly mathing is easier.

Can you elaborate? I learned how much more simple the metric system is but find it difficult to use it as a measurement in my runs
I feel like I run further and faster in km.
My average slow pace went from 12 Min miles to 7 min kilometers when I made the switch.

Provides great context when watching something like Diamond League/World Championships how insanely fast the athletes are.
The vast majority of the world agrees with you. As do I.

Training in minutes is better than both.
The kms go by faster, and the bigger number is more satisfying.
