Complaint: I finally started being consistent about running and getting my distance up to 5-6 miles and then I stubbed my toe on a nail and split open the front of my toe. No running for a bit over here.

I’ve binge eaten over the last two days and feel like I’ve turned a corner for the worst, both physically mentally, and the momentum is now going in the wrong direction. Can’t bring myself to run, and plan to fast through the weekend rather than suffering through runs of shame.

Complaint: I’m 286 days into a Streak, and dealing with plantar fasciitis! It’s getting increasingly annoying!

Complaint: I think winter should be illegal. Meaning anything under 55°. And I think rain should have the decency to wait until it’s warmer out. I’m not asking too much, am I???

Uncomplaint: none. I hate the cold and want to complain about it. It makes me 2° warmer when I do.

complaint - struggling to figure out balancing recomp and upping my running mileage without calorie counting. my dietician said we don’t wanna be in a deficit but i’m not really following my meal plan rn (partially because i’m on my period and my appetite is extremely low), and it doesn’t feel good.

uncomplaint - ran 3.5 miles yesterday and the day before despite major fatigue and back pain lol. really excited to run more in the coming weeks and finding a balance and consistency for training.

complaint: I have been totally ignoring strength training basically since I started running a few months ago. I used to do only strength, CrossFit etc, but I’ve just lost interest since beginning to run. But, I do want flexy muscles, and I know it helps running to strength train too, so I finally got back to it on Tuesday. I was…… so unbelievably sore yesterday 😂

uncomplaint: while I’m still just a bit sore today, I have a run scheduled that I’m excited for! I’m going to take it easy and see how my legs feel. Next week is finals week, this week I have about 50 homework assignments and final push items that are due, so I’m glad for the break my brain will get when I’m running and to be able to focus a little more.

confession: officially out of the “enjoying not having anything to train for” post-Berlin mindset now. last weekend’s hilly half was a wake-up call to get back in gear, and then track yesterday was where it clicked again. I think I was a bit burnt out too and now feel refreshed.

complaint: our potted figs are taking forever to go dormant. I’ve given them some time outside in the cold during the daytime now that the weather got frigid to start signaling “go to sleep go to sleep go to sleep” - they may get promoted to living in the attic for winter (it is cold and dark up there).

uncomplaint: just got the email about the lottery for London based on having done NYC, Chicago, and Berlin. would be nice to get in! also on a waitlist for a tour operator…

confession 2: it felt good giving away Christmas/winter decorations through Buy Nothing! my wife and I had a bunch of lights, ornaments, and other items that we didn’t like, or don’t have a good spot to put up, or so on. glad they are going to homes where they will be used.

    I want to join :D

Uncomplaint: For some reason, I’ve been really enjoying the process and the commitment I made to keep active

Uncomplaint: I LOVE colder weather (when it’s around 13C here) and I loved running at that temperature here where I’m spending my vacation

Complaint: I’ll have to travel back home in a week and my beloved 15-20C will become >30C and I hate hot weather T_T

Uncomplaint/Confession: I read a lot on here about discomfort and emotional distress during pre-race taper periods so I was worried going into my first big one but here I am with the end in sight (CIM Sunday) and I feel awesome. leg soreness is clearing up, energy is good, managed to not get sick despite two elementary-school aged kids. I wish the race were tomorrow instead of Sunday since there’s still time to blow it 😄

Complaint running 5k effort into the wind is tough and somehow even though I’m running around the block…the wind never seems to be at my back

Confession I am so excited for the extra rest day this week. I am almost done with the Fourth Wing!

Uncomplaint I have gotten in the 70s for my sleep score all week!!! This never happens!! It has nothing to do with cutting out alcohol, backing off the caffeine and setting an alarm to go to bed. I will win the sleep game if I can just get one morning with my body battery in the 90s!!

Confession After the race I am not doing any of the healthy sleep habits that are clearly working. I already know what beers are going to be waiting for me on the other side of the finish line. Lone Pint Yellow Rose IPA and a Shiner Cheer.

Complaint I am feeling like the Michelin Man during my taper.

Complaint Severe weather is forecasted for today and it makes the students go bat shit crazy. Also I have an hour drama club rehearsal after school and no one brings the dramatics theater kids. But the show must go on God willing and the creek don’t rise.

The idea never occurred to me and now I lost the perfect chance to have the wind at my back the whole way! Next time I will run counter clockwise around the neighborhood loop.

Welcome to the mid-west where you can run and out and back and have the wind in your face both ways.

Uncomplaint: I’m enjoying not being in training for anything and just kind of running how I want! Went out for a run yesterday and decided I didn’t want to run up the long hill at the end of my route, so I didn’t. 😂

Complaint: I really am not feeling work lately, at all. I saw a meme the other day that we should treat November and December like the weekend of the year and that’s my work mood right now. Unfortunately, I actually have stuff to do!

Complaint: it’s starting to get chilly in my corner of the world and my nose is not having a good time. I’ll try running with a bandana on my face tomorrow and hope that will help somehow.

Uncomplaint: 18 weeks marathon plan officially starts tomorrow and i am super excited. I got my spreadsheet ready and all.

After taking an unprecedented 10 days off running because I finally caught COVID (I haven’t stopped running for this long since 2019 or before probably!), I’m going to try running today and I’m so excited. Probably play it by ear, 3-5 km. I WAS supposed to start half-marathon training this week…
